London to Jeddah and Madinah Flights

Most of our pilgrims fly from Heathrow. It has the most direct flights to Jeddah and Madinah. We can also book from Gatwick or Stansted if they are closer to you.

A direct flight from London to Jeddah takes about 6 and a half hours. Flights with a stop, often in Istanbul or Cairo, take longer but cost less. Tell us your budget and we will find the best option.

Ramadan Umrah from London 2027

Ramadan is the most rewarding time for Umrah. It is also the busiest. Hotels near the Haram fill up months before, and prices go up a lot in the last ten nights.

So book early. We are taking Ramadan 2027 bookings now, for the first ten days, the last ten nights, or the whole month. Call us to hold today's price.

Umrah Tips and Guide for London Muslims

A little planning makes your trip much smoother. Here are our best tips for pilgrims travelling from London.

Before you travel

• Check your passport. It must be valid for at least 6 months from your travel date. Renew it early—UK passport renewals can take weeks.
• Get your vaccinations. Saudi Arabia asks for the meningitis (ACWY) vaccine. You can get it at most pharmacies in London, such as Boots, for around £35 to £45. Do this at least 10 days before you fly.
• Buy your ihram in London. Shops in East London (Whitechapel Road), Green Street and Tooting sell ihram, prayer mats and travel kits. Buying here is often cheaper than at the airport, and you can try it on first.
• Change your money early. Compare rates in London before you fly. Airport rates are poor. Take some Saudi Riyals in cash for taxis, food and small shops. Most hotels and big shops in Makkah take UK bank cards.
• Learn the duas and steps of Umrah. Many mosques in London run free Umrah classes. Ask at your local mosque, or we can send you a simple step-by-step guide when you book.

At the airport and on the plane

• Arrive 3 hours early. Heathrow and Gatwick are busy, especially in school holidays and before Ramadan.
• Men flying direct to Jeddah: you pass the miqat during the flight, so most pilgrims put their ihram on before boarding or change on the plane. The pilot usually announces the miqat. Wear easy clothes over your ihram or change in the plane toilet in good time.
• Keep documents together. Passport, visa printout and hotel booking in one folder in your hand luggage.

In Makkah and Madinah

• Drink plenty of water. Saudi Arabia is much hotter than London, often above 35°C. Zamzam water is free inside the Haram.
• Get a local SIM or eSIM. STC and Mobily counters are at Jeddah airport. An eSIM bought online before you fly is often easier.
• Save our number. If anything goes wrong — a lost bag, a hotel problem — call us. We are on UK time and easy to reach from Saudi Arabia on WhatsApp.
• Women can now travel without a mahram. Saudi rules changed, so women can perform Umrah without a male guardian. Many join our group packages for company and support.

Best times to go from London

• Cheapest: August to October (after Hajj) and January to February, outside school holidays.
• Coolest weather: November to February.
• Busiest and dearest: Ramadan, Easter holidays and summer holidays. If you must travel then, book 3 to 6 months early.

When is the cheapest time to perform Umrah?

The cheapest months are usually after Hajj, from August to October, and in winter outside school holidays. Ramadan and school holidays cost the most. Book 2 to 3 months ahead for the best price.
